Chennai: Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) has joined forces with GUVI Geek Networks, a leading Vernacular EdTech platform, to prepare students for industry demands.

This collaboration was highlighted at the 'HR & TPO Conclave 2024,' held at the U.P. Institute of Design Campus, focusing on 'Ensuring Industry Relevance for Graduating Engineers.'

Over 100 Training and Placement Officers from AKTU-affiliated colleges participated, engaging with HR leaders and industry experts. The event facilitated idea exchange, collaboration, and strategies to improve technical education quality. Keynote speakers included HR leaders from Salesforce, Hexaware, Bristlecone, and Jindal Steel & Power.

GUVI, serving over 3 million learners globally, emphasized integrating industry-led courses into university curriculums. Mr. Arun Prakash, CEO of GUVI, discussed the transformative impact of Generation AI on upskilling.

AKTU Vice-Chancellor Prof. J.P. Pandey highlighted the importance of academia-industry partnerships and the National Credit Framework under the New Education Policy. Panel discussions, featuring leaders from TCS, Sopra Banking Software, and others, stressed the need for practical experience and industry-relevant education.

NASSCOM's Anuj Gangola emphasized self-learning, faculty upskilling, and the significance of values and ethics in education. This collaboration aims to drive innovation and enhance the employability of engineering graduates.
