New Delhi: The Centre on Saturday appointed two joint secretaries and two joint directors in the National Testing Agency (NTA), which is under the scanner over the NEET-UG paper leak.

Anuja Bapat, a 1998-batch Indian Statistical Service officer, and Ruchita Vij, a 2004-batch Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Indirect Taxes) officer, have been appointed as joint secretaries in the NTA for a period of five years, according to an order issued by the Personnel Ministry.

In a separate order, the ministry appointed Akash Jain, an Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) officer, and Aditya Rajendra Bhojgadhiya, an Indian Audit and Accounts Service officer, as joint directors in the NTA.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case and formed teams to probe the alleged leak of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) paper, following which the examination held on May 3 was cancelled.

Nearly 23 lakh candidates had registered for the examination, which was conducted by the NTA across the country.
