Chennai: The 84th Foundation Day of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) will be celebrated on September 26 at the CSIR campus in Taramani here, the CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Centre (SERC) said on Wednesday.

Ahead of the celebrations, CSIR-SERC and CSIR Madras Complex (CMC) organised “Eureka 2025,” an inter-school science quiz, on September 16 at the Vigyan Auditorium. The quiz, conducted annually since 2008, is aimed at nurturing scientific aptitude among school students of Classes X to XII.

This year, 23 schools participated, with six teams making it to the finals. The event was conducted by quiz master V V Ramanan. CSIR-SERC Director N Anandavalli presented mementos to the finalists and the quiz master, while all participants received certificates.

Trophies, shields and prize money for the winners will be presented during the Foundation Day celebrations later this month.
