Chennai: In a major development in the field of civil service coaching, Mr. C. Sylendra Babu, IPS (Retd.), former Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu, has joined Officers IAS Academy as its Director of Academics.

The academy, known for its mentorship by former civil servants, announced that Mr. Sylendra Babu will teach subjects such as Modern History, Internal Security, Disaster Management, Social Issues (General Studies), and Psychology (Optional).

Expressing his gratitude, Mr. Sylendra Babu stated, "Coming from a humble background and studying in a government school in Tamil medium, I cleared the IPS exam and had a fulfilling 36-year career, culminating in my tenure as DGP. Now, I am privileged to mentor the next generation of civil servants."

He also thanked Mr. Israel Jebasingh, the Director of Officers IAS Academy, who resigned from the IAS to establish the institute 12 years ago.

The academy is located in Anna Nagar, Chennai.
