New Delhi: The Government e Marketplace (GeM) marked a strong presence at the Startup Mahakumbh 2025 held in the national capital, highlighting its role as a key enabler of startup growth through public procurement.
Participating as a strategic presenting partner, GeM engaged with a wide spectrum of stakeholders, including startups, investors, policymakers, and industry leaders. The three-day event concluded on Saturday, with GeM's pavilion witnessing significant footfall and interaction.
During the event, GeM resolved over 2,500 startup-related queries and facilitated more than 1,000 registrations and cataloguing activities. The platform also hosted over 1,500 interactive sessions, including one-on-one mentoring and onboarding modules under its Learning Management System (LMS).
GeM's participation underscored its aim of bridging the gap between innovators and government buyers, offering startups faster market access and validation. Over 70 innovative startups were showcased at the GeM pavilion, including 30 winners of the GeM Start-o-nauts Challenge who were provided pods free of cost.
A high-level panel discussion hosted by GeM drew a packed audience and covered themes such as scaling state procurement through startups, emerging technologies, and unlocking opportunities with central government buyers.
Addressing the event, GeM CEO Ajay Bhadoo said, “Let's work together and unlock the true potential of public procurement in driving startup growth, inclusive development, and Atmanirbhar Bharat.”
To date, GeM has enabled transactions worth over ₹38,500 crore for more than 30,000 startups, reinforcing its role as a catalyst in India's innovation ecosystem.
