Puducherry: A 13-member team of students from Saarland in Germany will visit Puducherry soon in a reciprocal gesture as 20 students from tsunami-hit villages in Kalapet near here had visited that country in September last year.

The exact date of the arrival of the German students, along with their relatives, would be decided soon, an official said here yesterday.

The visting students would stay with the families of the students in Puducherry and they would be accommodated in the suburban pocket of Kalapet or in any of the  accommodation centres in the town, officials added.

The team of students from Puducherry, during their visit to Germany last year stayed with the families of visting students in Saarland and acquainted themselves with the cultural and historical features of that country.

The German students would have an opportunity to know about the historical and cultural features of Puducherry, the officials said.
