Chennai: Globalart India, the country's first structured art education programme for children, celebrated its 20th anniversary in a grand ceremony held at Grand Chennai by GRT Hotels on July 2.

Launched in 2005 under SIP Academy, Globalart has impacted over 95,000 children through 145 centres spread across seven Indian states. With its roots in Malaysia since 1999, the Globalart network today spans 650+ centres in 23 countries, making it the world's largest chain of art centres.

The anniversary event brought together key stakeholders, including franchisees, instructors, alumni, and dignitaries. Speaking at the event, Mrs. Sarala Kulasekaran, Director - Finance, Operations and HR, SIP Academy, said, “The Globalart syllabus is a result of extensive research, enabling creativity even in children with no prior exposure to art.”

Early franchisees and instructors from 2006 shared moving testimonials on their journey and the programme's evolution. Mr. Dinesh Victor, Managing Director, SIP Academy, remarked, “Globalart not only builds artistic skills but also boosts confidence, fosters innovation, and helps children excel academically and personally.”

Special congratulatory messages poured in from noted personalities including filmmaker Suhasini Mani Ratnam, artist Thejo Menon, actor Janaki Sabesh, and others, applauding Globalart's contribution to nurturing young talent.

Mr. Mahair Goh, Globalart Founder, joined from Malaysia and termed India “one of our strongest growth centres.”

The event concluded with a felicitation of alumni and a vote of thanks by Ms. Namrata Mukherjee, Business Head, Globalart India.
