Nagpur: The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) has launched a three-day capacity building programme on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for officials of Munitions India Limited (MIL) at the National Academy of Defence Production (NADP), Nagpur.
The programme aims to strengthen the CSR capabilities of Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DSPUs) through focused training on policy formulation, impact assessment, sustainability reporting, and alignment with national development priorities.
A key milestone of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IICA and NADP. The MoU, signed by Dr. Garima Dadhich, Associate Professor and Head, School of Business Environment, IICA, and Dr. J.P. Dash, Chief General Manager, NADP, signifies a commitment to promote excellence in CSR practices and foster responsible corporate conduct across DSPUs.
The inauguration on June 9, 2025, was marked by addresses from Dr. Dadhich and Dr. Dash. Dr. Dadhich underlined CSR's dual role as a business strategy and a statutory obligation under the Companies Act, urging officials to adopt innovative and impactful CSR approaches aligned with national goals. Dr. Dash stressed the programme's relevance in enhancing participants' skills, leadership and understanding of sustainable development imperatives.
During the three days, participants will engage with subject experts from IICA and other institutions through lectures, case studies and interactive sessions.
This initiative reinforces IICA's mission to build capacities and promote sustainability and social responsibility within India's corporate and public sector ecosystem.
