Tiruchirappalli: The Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli's social responsibility club Elixir, in collaboration with Pranyas Foundation, has inaugurated the School Redevelopment Project 2024-25 to upgrade infrastructure in four government schools at a cost of Rs 12.58 lakh.

The project aims to enhance the learning environment at Government School, Nariyappatti; Government Special Higher Secondary School, Mathur; Government Higher Secondary School, Mandaiyur; and Government High School, Neerpalani, benefiting over 1,500 students. Key interventions include classroom and toilet renovations, installation of smart classrooms, provision of water dispensers for safe drinking water, and supply of benches.

The initiative marks another milestone in the eight-year association between Elixir and Pranyas Foundation, which has previously executed projects such as solar streetlight installation and village development programmes. Prior to the rollout, Elixir members conducted visits and consultations with stakeholders to ensure need-based interventions.

The inauguration ceremony, held on August 7 at the Mathur school, was attended by IIM-T Director Dr Pawan Kumar Singh, Pranyas Foundation Founder Rahul Sharma, Dean (Academics) Prof Satish S Maheshwarappa, Chairperson (Student Affairs) Prof Rishikesan Parthiban, Faculty Mentor Prof Manikandan, and CAO (in-charge) Muthukumaran K. Headmaster Chandrasekaran coordinated the event.

The institute said the project reflects its commitment to community engagement and sustainable educational development.
