Chennai: IIT Madras and Deakin University are set to launch the 'IIT Madras Deakin University Research Academy.' The collaborative initiative aims to nurture graduate research scholars from SAARC and ASEAN countries, addressing global challenges through joint projects and scholarships. The partnership, praised by the Australian Consul General in Chennai, focuses on areas such as clean energy, critical technologies, and healthcare. The four-year joint PhD program, building on a decade-long collaboration, offers high-value scholarships and facilitates collaboration with industry partners in India and Australia. The academy aims to foster talent, encourage innovative research, and influence policy decisions. The launch event featured prominent dignitaries, highlighting the global significance of this research excellence endeavor.
