Chennai: The IIT Madras-led digital platform SWAYAM Plus has launched three new Artificial Intelligence courses under its 'AI for All' campaign, expanding access to beginner-friendly learning, officials said.

The courses — AI for Aspiring Engineers, AI for Administrators and Prompt Engineering — have been introduced in partnership with IITM Pravartak and are open to learners without prior coding experience.

The programmes were launched by IIT Madras Director V Kamakoti during an event marking two years of SWAYAM Plus.

Officials said the courses focus on practical applications, with AI for Aspiring Engineers covering basics of Python and machine learning, while AI for Administrators targets decision-making using AI tools. The Prompt Engineering course aims to train learners in effectively interacting with AI systems.

Registrations for the courses are open till May 10 on the official portal.

According to Prof R Sarathi, Dean (Planning), IIT Madras, the platform, an initiative under the Ministry of Education, has grown to host over 500 courses across 15 sectors, with more than 5.5 lakh learners enrolled so far.

The 'AI for All' campaign, launched in 2025, has seen strong response, with earlier batches attracting over 90,000 registrations, officials added.
