Puducherry: JIPMER organised the 'Khelo India Samvaad' programme at the APJ Abdul Kalam Auditorium here on Thursday as part of the nationwide initiative to promote sports, fitness and youth participation.
The programme featured the live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address, enabling the JIPMER community to witness the proceedings of the national 'Khelo India Samvaad' programme.
JIPMER Director Dr Vir Singh Negi, Dean (Academic) Dr Vikram Kate, senior officials, faculty members and students of the institute were present during the programme.
Students from various academic programmes, including MBBS, BMLS, BSc Allied Health Sciences and BSc Nursing, attended the programme.
The programme provided students an opportunity to be part of a national initiative emphasising the role of sports, physical fitness, discipline, teamwork and a healthy lifestyle in the holistic development of young people.
The active involvement of the JIPMER community reflects the institute's commitment to the overall development and well-being of its students, alongside its pursuit of excellence in medical education, healthcare and research.
The event also reinforced the message that a healthy and physically active youth is integral to building a stronger and more vibrant nation.
