New Delhi: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Monday alleged that large-scale question paper leaks over the past decade have adversely affected the future of nearly 85 lakh youth across the country.
Referring to recruitment and eligibility examinations conducted by bodies such as NEET, UGC-NET, UPSC, and the Bihar Examination Board, Gandhi claimed that over 80 such papers have been compromised in the last ten years.
In a statement, he said, “The future of 85 lakh youth has been impacted due to repeated instances of paper leaks and examination cancellations. The BJP-led central government has failed to curb this systemic malpractice.”
Gandhi cited the recent example of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) examination, scheduled to be conducted between July 24 and August 1, which faced technical glitches on the opening day, leading to cancellations.
He said many aspirants who travelled 400-500 km to reach their exam centres were informed at the last moment about the cancellation, adding that such incidents were wasting the hard work, time, and trust of lakhs of candidates and their families.
“This is not just administrative failure; it is the result of government incompetence, deep-rooted corruption, and the unholy nexus with exam mafias,” Gandhi charged, demanding immediate reform and accountability in the examination system.
