Puducherry: The MSME Technology Centre, Puducherry, has launched a series of one-day Entrepreneurship Development workshops for students at Pondicherry University (PU) Community College.

The first of six planned sessions was inaugurated on Tuesday by Amit Nayan, Deputy General Manager (DGM), MSME, Puducherry.

The initiative, aimed at fostering entrepreneurial skills among students, is coordinated by Dr. Jagadeeswari, Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Education and Yoga, and convened by College Principal (in-charge) Prof. Lalitha Ramakrishnan.

Addressing students, Nayan highlighted success stories from the manufacturing sector, including Ahuja Mic Systems, emphasizing the importance of innovative thinking and entrepreneurship. Prof. Ramakrishnan cited first-generation entrepreneurs such as Ritesh Agarwal (OYO Rooms) and Sriharsha Majety (Swiggy) to inspire students.

Dr. Chandana Eswar, an international baseball player and swimmer, served as the resource person. Other speakers include D. Balamurugan, Founder-Director, Tharun Sports Wear; Yuvaraj, Founder-Director, One Punch Man; and Dr. K. Velmurugan, Founder, Trophy Mall.

The programme, conducted as per MSME guidelines, was coordinated by students of the college.
