Chandigarh: The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) Bangalore has re-accredited Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar as 'A' grade University.

Grade 'A' is the highest level of academic accomplishment under the new assessment and accreditation system of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council said Devinder Dayal Singh Sandhu, Vice-Chancellor in a release issued here.

'Assessment was done on quality basis. Grade 'A' shows relevance and excellence of academic programmers offered to the students and it would stimulate the academic environment for promotion of quality of teaching-learning and research in the University" said Dr DDS Sandhu.

'Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar is one among 26 'A' grade Universities in the country under the new assessment and accreditation system of National Assessment and Accreditation Council which came into force from 1 April, 2007', he said.

NAAC team made assessment of the University on Curricular Aspects, Teaching-Learning and Evaluation, Research, Consultancy and Extension, Infrastructure and Learning Resources, Student Support and Progression, Governance and Leadership and Innovative Practices, Sandhu said.
