New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday reiterated the government's commitment to creating a skilled and self-reliant youth force, as the Skill India Mission marked its 10th anniversary.

In posts on social media platform X, the Prime Minister described Skill India as a transformative initiative that continues to empower millions across the country.

"Skill India is strengthening the resolve to make our youth skilled and self-reliant," he said, responding to posts by MyGovIndia and Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary.

Highlighting the achievements of the Mission over the past decade, Modi said the initiative has benefitted countless individuals by equipping them with new skills and enhancing employment opportunities.

“In the coming times as well, we will keep focusing on equipping our Yuva Shakti with new skills, in line with global best practices, so that we can realise our dream of a Viksit Bharat,” he added.

The Skill India Mission was launched in 2015 to train over 40 crore people in various skills by 2022 and remains a flagship effort to boost employability and entrepreneurship among India's youth.
