Chennai: Public transactions at the Kulittalai Head Office (HO) under the Karur Division will be suspended on July 21 to facilitate the rollout of the Department of Posts' new IT 2.0 application.

The department, in a statement on Tuesday, said that the Advanced Postal Technology (APT) system will be implemented across all post offices under Kulittalai HO from July 22, marking a significant step in its digital transformation efforts.

To ensure a smooth transition, the department has scheduled planned downtime on July 21 (Monday), during which no public-facing services will be available. The temporary suspension is required for data migration, system validations, and configuration activities.

The APT application is expected to enhance customer experience through faster service delivery, an improved interface, and digitally enabled features. Customers have been advised to plan their postal transactions accordingly.

“This routine software upgrade is aimed at offering smarter and more efficient postal services. We regret the inconvenience and appreciate public cooperation,” the department said.
