Chennai/Puducherry: A three-day National Conference on “Institutional Collaboration: A Pragmatic Approach for Transforming Distance Education” was jointly organised by the Directorate of Distance Education (DDE), Pondicherry University, and Loyola College Society, Chennai. The sessions were held at Loyola College, Chennai, and the Pondicherry University campus.

The conference opened in Chennai with thematic sessions that set the tone for subsequent discussions. The event then moved to Puducherry for the remaining two days. Dr. Arvind Gupta, Director, DDE, Pondicherry University, delivered the welcome address on Day 2. Rev. Fr. V. Sahayaraj, S.J., Director, PU-LCS Loyola College, offered felicitations, while Dr. Harsh Gandhar, Director, Centre for Distance & Online Education, Panjab University, delivered the keynote address. Prof. K. Tharanikkarasu, Director of Studies, also addressed the gathering.

A cultural evening showcasing regional performances by university students added a vibrant touch. The academic highlight of the conference was the presentation of over 50 research papers by scholars, faculty, and industry experts. Discussions emphasized the need for collaboration and innovation in distance education.

The valedictory session featured addresses by Prof. Clement Sagayaradja Lourdes, Director of Culture and Cultural Relations, and Dr. T. Srinivasan, Director, Centre for Distance & Online Education, Annamalai University. Dr. A. Sarvanan, Deputy Registrar, proposed the vote of thanks, and Dr. Gurminder Kaur, Head (i/c), Department of Law, presented the conference report.

The event was held under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. P. Prakash Babu and coordinated by Dr. Arvind Gupta and the DDE team.
