Guwahati: The Assam State Level Recruitment Commission on Wednesday announced the results for 5,023 Class IV posts under various administrative departments of the state government.
Commission Chairman B. Kalyan Chakravarthy said at a press conference that 41 departments had submitted requisitions for the posts. These include 2,102 posts for candidates who studied up to Class 8, 1,088 posts for HSLC or equivalent qualified candidates, and 1,833 posts in the Power and Public Works Department (PWD) for candidates with HSLC or equivalent qualifications along with an ITI certificate from a state-approved institute.
The selection process comprised a written test for 135 marks and an oral interview for 15 marks. The written exams were held on October 27, 2024, in two sessions based on qualification levels, followed by oral interviews conducted between June 17 and July 7, 2025.
Out of 13,99,898 applications received, 9,28,126 candidates appeared for the written test. Of these, 9,672 were shortlisted for interviews, and 8,739 attended the final round.
The final merit lists were prepared based on combined marks from the written and oral tests. Provisionally selected candidates will be allotted departments through a randomisation process using NIC-developed software in the presence of independent observers.
Chakravarthy said the appointments are provisional and subject to verification of documents and eligibility by the appointing authorities. PwBD candidates will be examined by a Medical Board before final clearance.
Each candidate will be selected for only one post, and those appointed to a higher grade pay position will not be considered for lower-grade posts.
