Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Talent Search Examination (TNCMTSE) for Class X students studying in government schools will be conducted on January 31, 2026, the Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE) announced on Friday.
The examination is open to students studying in Class X in government schools under the Tamil Nadu State syllabus during the 2025-26 academic year. Based on the prevailing reservation policy, 1,000 students — comprising 500 boys and 500 girls — will be selected for scholarships.
Selected students will receive a scholarship of Rs 10,000 per academic year, payable at Rs 1,000 per month, officials said.
The examination will be conducted in two objective-type papers based on the Mathematics, Science and Social Science syllabi of Classes IX and X prescribed by the Tamil Nadu State Government. The first paper, consisting of 60 questions from Mathematics, will be held from 10 am to 12 noon. The second paper, with 60 questions from Science and Social Science, will be conducted from 2 pm to 4 pm.
Application forms can be downloaded from the official website of the Directorate of Government Examinations (www.dge.tn.gov.in) between December 18 and December 26, 2025.
Students must submit the completed application form along with an examination fee of Rs 50 to the headmaster of their respective schools on or before December 26, the release added.
