Chennai: The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Tamil Nadu, has invited applications for the July 2025 Supplementary Examinations for Class 10 and Higher Secondary First Year (Class +1) students having failed or did not appear in the March/April 2025 public exams.

According to the official release, applications for both school students and private candidates will be accepted from May 22 (Thursday) at 11 a.m. to June 4 (Wednesday) at 5 p.m., excluding Sundays.

School-going students having failed the March/April 2025 exams must apply through their respective schools, while private candidates should apply via designated Government Examinations Service Centres in their educational districts.

Tatkal scheme will be available on June 5 and 6, for those who miss the regular deadline. Under this scheme, candidates must pay an additional fee — Rs 500 for Class 10 and Rs 1,000 for Class +1 — unless they are currently enrolled in government or fully-aided schools, in which case the fee is waived.

The standard fee for the Class 10 examination is Rs 195, including the exam and online registration charges. For Class +1 candidates, the fee structure includes Rs 50 per subject (Rs 35 for language subjects), plus Rs 70 for online registration. Total fees will vary based on the number of subjects.

Candidates who need to take the Science Practical Training Class for Class 10 — especially those from pre-2012 syllabi or who missed/fail the practicals — must register at their respective District Education Offices between May 23 and May 30, paying Rs 125 in cash to obtain an acknowledgment slip.

Only candidates with this slip can register for the practical exam at the nodal centre and download the admit card online.
