Chennai: The Globalart National Competition - Kolor Champ '25 transformed the RK Convention Centre on East Coast Road into a vibrant showcase of creativity as over 1,200 young artists from across Chennai participated in the national-level event.
Children aged between 5 and 15 created original artwork on a surprise topic revealed on the spot, turning the venue into a celebration of imagination and artistic expression. The competition, organised by Globalart India, aimed to nurture creativity and confidence through structured art education.
The inaugural session was graced by art director and painter Thota Tharani, educational psychologist Dr. Saranya Jaikumar, and Loyola College faculty member Ms. Divine Rizia R.V. The prize distribution ceremony featured actor and media professional Ms. Janaki Sabesh as chief guest.
Dr. Saranya highlighted the growing importance of creativity in the age of artificial intelligence, while Ms. Sabesh lauded Globalart for encouraging original thinking among children. Ms. Rizia noted that such initiatives inspire children to consider careers in art and design.
Globalart India Managing Director Mr. Dinesh Victor said the event reflects the organisation's mission to cultivate creativity early in life. He added that many Globalart alumni have gone on to excel in creative professions like architecture, fashion, and graphic design.
Founded in 2005, Globalart operates over 150 centres across eight Indian states and trains children aged 5-15 through a structured art curriculum. The programme has reached more than one lakh students in India and 3.5 lakh globally across 23 countries.
