It was a day of perfect entertainment on April 20th during the Bharathanatyam Graduation Performance at Christian Family Association Hall in Hong Kong. Being a student of Salangai Academy's founder Natya Ratna Sri Puraskar Smt. Devi Babu, Selvi. Bharathi Suriyanarayanan performed eight margams (starting from Pushpanjali, Kali Kautuivam, Alaaripu, Muruga Shabdam, Ramar Varnam, Andal Stuthi, Anandha Thaandavam,Thillana) very well amongst an audience of more than 100 art enthusiasts.
Her untiring effort in learning this art form from the age of 4, reflected during her scintillating performance. Smt. Poonguzali added more grace to the occasion by introducing each item and bringing in already graduated students to share their experiences. The video of blessings from those who could not join (including her gradparents, earlier teachers of dance, music, veena playing, Bharathi's sister Shree) added more fuel to the performance.
The Presidential address by Mr. Thiru Nach, one of the art ambassadors and UNESCO Hong Kong member was emotional as he knew the family personally and saw Bharathi growing up putting in a lot of effort in learning different arts, dancing, singing and playing Veena and blessed her to become an art ambassador in future.
Bharathi's parents (Sri. Suriyanarayanan and Smt. Rajamathangi) thanked almighty, Her holiness Sri. Jayanthi Kumaraswami and all those who helped in putting together this graduation performance and made it a success. At the end Bharathi thanked each one who came to the show by name and told that this practice has molded her very well.
The audience left the hall with all the satisfaction of seeing a power packed performance.
