CEPT University hosts global south conclave on WASH and Climate
ahmedabad: cept university inaugurated the second global south academic conclave (gsac) on wash and climate 2025 on february 21. organized by the center for water and sanitation (cwas) and the faculty of planning, with support from the bill & melinda gates foundation and viega foundation, the three-day event focuses on climate resilience in water, sanitation, and hygiene (wash).a key highlight was the launch of the 15 report, marking 15 years of india's largest urban wash performance assessment system. developed by cwas, pas has expanded to over 800 cities, impacting 115 million people.cept university president prof. barjor mehta emphasized academia's role in addressing climate challenges. the conclave features discussions on wash governance, financing, and urban planning, with experts from who, cse, and sparc. recognized as a centre of excellence, cept continues to lead research and policy initiatives for sustainable urban development.
