IIT-M Pravartak and SWAYAM Plus launch Semiconductor Training Program for Students
chennai: the iit madras pravartak technologies foundation, in collaboration with the union education ministry's swayam plus, has introduced a specialized skill-based training program aimed at equipping students and graduates in semiconductor and electronics disciplines. this short-term program, held on the iit madras campus, targets students from engineering and science backgrounds in electronics, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and production fields.focused on industry-relevant skills, the program provides hands-on training with theoretical insights delivered by iit madras experts. high-performing participants will receive placement assistance, enhancing their employability within the semiconductor industry. professor r. sarathi, dean (planning) at iit madras, emphasized the program's role in bridging the skills gap between academic theory and practical industry demands, contributing to india's advanced economic development.the training includes four distinct courses: comprehensive electronics and embedded systems, advanced embedded technology with iot, advanced electronic manufacturing, and digital manufacturing practice. each course has specific eligibility criteria and multiple training slots starting november 2024. a certificate of participation will be issued jointly by swayam plus, iit madras, and iitm pravartak.for inquiries, participants may contact 94983 41969 or iitmpravartak.net. on prior booking, accommodation is made available at iit madras for inr 650/day, including food.
