TN Govt. declares holiday for select schools & colleges amidst TNPSC exams

chennai: the tamil nadu government has announced a holiday for select schools and colleges on december 16, 2024, in conjunction with the ongoing tnpsc group-2 exams.the exams are being held at over 1,368 centres across the state, including educational institutions. the first session took place on sunday, with a second session scheduled today in selected schools and colleges. approximately 5 lakh candidates have registered for this year's exams, which are split into four papers. the first and third papers will be held from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm, while the second and fourth papers are set from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm.candidates are reminded to carry all required documents, such as their admit card and a valid government-issued id (e.g., aadhar or pan card). they must also follow the exam day instructions listed on their hall tickets, and any issues should be immediately reported to the exam authorities.the tnpsc recently released the results for the combined civil services examination 2 (group-2 a services) prelims on december 12, 2024, after the exam was conducted on september 14. candidates selected for the main written examination must pay a fee of rs 150, unless they are eligible for an exemption. additionally, candidates are required to select two district centres for the main examination through their registered otr id between december 14 and december 18, 2024.
