Versuni launches initiatives to support govt. schools

chennai: versuni india, the company behind philips domestic appliances and preethi, has introduced a new initiative aimed at enhancing education infrastructure in government schools, starting with those in chennai. the project began with two primary schools in veluchai and thaiyur villages, benefiting around 50 students.this initiative is part of versuni's broader vision to support underprivileged students by improving their learning environments. the first phase involves significant upgrades, including playground construction, building renovations, new furniture, and a 1000l ro water system for clean drinking water. additionally, the project includes tree planting and fencing around a nearby pond to enhance local area development.gulbahar taurani, managing director and ceo of isc at versuni india, emphasized the importance of education in community development. he highlighted the company's commitment to creating a supportive environment that promotes academic and personal growth.inthe second phase, versuni plans to extend similar support to senior secondary schools across the country and provide skill training for students above the 10th standard. this effort aligns with versuni's vision of economic, emotional, and social self-reliance.previously, in 2021, preethi kitchen appliances, part of versuni, supported 200 tribal children in tamil nadu with financial aid and educational resources. this new initiative continues versuni's commitment to social responsibility and community empowerment.
