Annamalai seeks re-exam or remedial action over TNPSC Group 4 Tamil paper

chennai: former tamil nadu bjp president k annamalai on wednesday urged the state government to cancel and reconduct the tamil paper in the recently held tnpsc group 4 examination, alleging that a significant number of questions were outside the prescribed syllabus.ina statement, annamalai said that in the group 4 examination held on july 12, more than 50 out of the 100 questions in the tamil language section were reportedly out of syllabus and unusually complex. “as per feedback from candidates, the questions were difficult to comprehend and not part of the official syllabus,” he said.the former ips officer noted that the absence of negative marking may have compelled aspirants to guess answers, putting even well-prepared candidates at a disadvantage. “this has reduced the exam to a matter of luck, which is both unfortunate and unacceptable,” he said.he said it was unjust to make hardworking aspirants and their families “victims of someone else's mistake” and called for immediate corrective action.annamalai urged the state government to either cancel the tamil paper and conduct a re-examination or award equal marks to all candidates for the disputed questions. alternatively, he suggested excluding the out-of-syllabus questions from evaluation.he also called on the tamil nadu public service commission to ensure that such issues do not recur in future examinations.
