CUTN making leaps and bounds
recently, cutn was ranked at 101-150 in the national institutional ranking framework ranking report 2020, released by the human resource and development (hrd) minister of india recently, in the overall ranking category. within a short span, cutn has emerged as a leading center for higher education with 28 departments, more than 160 faculty members and 2,133 students currently pursuing higher education from different parts of the country. prof. a. p. dash, the vice-chancellor of the university, expressed his happiness on improving its position in the nirf ranking from the previous years. he said, "the elevation of cutn in the nirf ranking 2020 is a reflection of the untiring efforts of its stakeholders. i am delighted to witness cutn marching forward in the growing competition in nirf ranking." cutn was ranked at 70 in the recently-released education world 2020 ranking of india’s top government universities. the university has also fared well among the newly-established central universities in the prestigious nature ranking 2020. established in 2009, the surge and success of cutn in the crucial first decade of its existence has been both momentous and monumental, charting a success story for itself and setting a decisive growth animus for this institution of higher education. in the past five years alone, 54 programmes were introduced and 18 new departments were instituted. from the introduction of new programmes and curricular innovation to research infrastructure development and faculty capacity building, the university has trained its focus in the right areas, and as a result, it has witnessed a huge rise in popularity across the nation drawing the best of minds from the far corners.
