Delhi school teachers to receive training for AI-integrated classrooms

new delhi: school teachers in delhi will soon undergo hands-on training to integrate artificial intelligence (ai) tools into classrooms, personalise learning, and make student assessments more effective, the state council of educational research and training (scert) said.the training, part of the 'ai-mediated classroom project', aims to help teachers adopt innovative teaching practices and prepare students for a technology-driven future.according to the scert, the programme will be rolled out in two phases. in the first phase, 100 computer science teachers from 50 government schools will participate in a two-day capacity-building programme. these trained teachers will then serve as resource persons (rps) for their schools.the second phase will extend the training to subject teachers of mathematics, science, english, hindi, and social science who teach classes 6 and 9. each school will nominate 15 teachers — three from each subject — for the programme.the scert said the project is aligned with delhi's vision to create future-ready classrooms and promote the effective use of ai in education.“it aims to empower teachers to adopt innovative pedagogical methods, enhance classroom engagement, and improve learning outcomes through ai-based practices,” the department said.the directorate of education has identified 50 government schools and selected 100 teachers for the initiative, which marks a major step in integrating ai into school education.
