Handbook on Burn Management released at JIPMER
puducherry: a comprehensive handbook on burn management, with the theme “holistic approach to burn management”, was released during the midterm cme and workshop of the national academy of burns, india (nabi) at jipmer.releasing the handbook, jipmer director dr. vir singh negi highlighted the institute's contributions to burn care and research. he announced that the jipmer burn centre has been recognised as a centre of excellence by the union health ministry and stressed the urgent need for skin banking facilities in the country.the cme featured deliberations by the president, secretary and treasurer of nabi along with experts from chennai and puducherry on fundamental principles, recent advances and technologies in burn management.over 250 delegates, including plastic surgeons, postgraduate and undergraduate students, nursing professionals and trainees, attended the programme. the accompanying workshop had four practical stations focusing on abc in burns, first aid and initial assessment, splinting and physiotherapy, and burn dressing.the event was organised by the department of plastic surgery and the jipmer tertiary burn centre under the leadership of prof. friji m. t., with support from consultants prof. ravikumar chittoria, prof. devi prasad mohapatra, prof. dinesh kumar, assistant prof. padmalakshmi, dr. anand and the department's residents.
