IICT signs MoU with Australian University

hyderabad: city-based indian institute of chemical technology (iict) has entered into an mou with deakin university in australia to explore the areas of mutual interest in education and research. the mou was signed by j s yadav, director, iict and prof andrew paratt, executive director, institute of technology research innovation centre, deakin university on may 19. the research activities will be initially focused on academic programmes leading to ph.d degree of deakin university in the area of advanced materials manufacturing and performance, biotechnology and integrated systems, it said. as per the mou, students with b.tech and m.sc degree with good academic record and having ielts score of  6.5 will be considered for the programme. the stipend/fellowship will be paid by deakin university as per iict norms and the students simultaneously will get registered for ph.d in the university while working in iict with a maximum residency period of six months at the varsity during the entire programme. presently iict is finalising the research collaboration projects with scientists of deakin university, it said. the selection of students would be completed by the end of this month and a collaborative agreement will be signed by july, so that the actual iict - deakin university research collaboration will commence in august, 2009.
