IIT Roorkee and NISE to partner for augmenting solar research

roorkee: iit roorkee has signed a memorandum of understanding (mou) with the national institute of solar energy (nise) to boost solar energy research, technology, and education, aligning with india's renewable energy goals. nise, under the ministry of new and renewable energy, plays a key role in implementing the national solar mission, and this collaboration is set to drive solar technology advancements in line with india's national action plan on climate change.the mou framework promotes joint research, scholar exchanges, collaborative conferences, and the development of cutting-edge solar technologies. iit roorkee's director, prof. kamal kishore pant, highlighted that the partnership aligns with iit roorkee's commitment to renewable energy, particularly through its hydro and renewable energy department and center for sustainable energy. dr. mohd. rihan, nise's director general, expressed enthusiasm about working with iit roorkee on transformative projects that support national solar adoption.this alliance represents a strategic move towards sustainable energy solutions, with both institutions aiming to advance india's leadership in solar technology. the collaboration is expected to contribute significantly to achieving india's renewable energy targets by 2030, fostering innovation and supporting the transition to clean energy.
