Kerala schools to get 5,000 advanced robotic kits

thiruvananthapuram: kerala infrastructure and technology for education (kite), the technology wing of the state general education department, has invited tenders for 5,000 advanced robotic kits for high schools with active little kites units.earlier, kite had distributed 29,000 robotic kits with about 15 components per school. robotics is now part of the ict curriculum for over four lakh class 10 students.the new kits, aimed at fostering problem-solving and hands-on learning, include an esp32 devkit v1 microcontroller, ultrasonic, soil moisture, pir motion, line-tracking sensors, a 4wd smart car chassis, submersible mini water pump, and rechargeable li-ion battery pack, kite ceo k anvar sadath said.students will be able to create projects like line-following rovers, obstacle-avoiding robots, automatic plant watering systems, motion-activated security devices, blind assistive walking sticks, air quality monitors, anti-theft systems, and mini weather stations. the kits also help students learn electronic circuits and programming using block coding, python, and c.the pre-bid meeting concluded monday, and the last date for tender submission through the kerala e-tender portal is september 25. kite plans to roll out the advanced kit curriculum by december 2025.
