No extra fee for Class 10 second board exam: CBSE

chennai: the central board of secondary education (cbse) has directed affiliated schools not to collect any additional educational fee from students applying for the second round of the class 10 board examination.ina circular issued to school principals, cbse controller of examinations sanyam bhardwaj said that, in line with the new education policy, students who have already appeared for the class 10 board exams will be given an opportunity to improve their scores through a second public examination.schools have been instructed to immediately submit the list of students willing to appear for the second examination. after the declaration of results, students must provide details of up to three subjects they wish to reappear for and pay the prescribed examination fee.if a student opts not to reappear for any subject, the marks obtained in the first board examination will be treated as final, the board said.the cbse has received complaints that some schools are collecting additional fees under the pretext of offering special coaching for three months to students opting for the second examination. the board clarified that such practices violate its norms and warned that strict action will be taken against schools found charging any extra fee, the statement added.
