Odisha Class 12 board exams begin amid tight security

bhubaneswar: the class 12 final examinations conducted by the council of higher secondary education, odisha commenced on wednesday under stringent security arrangements, officials said.around 4.01 lakh students are appearing for the examinations at 1,364 centres across the state. the exams began with science papers, while the arts and commerce stream examinations will start on friday. the tests will continue till march 28.according to chse controller of examinations prasanta kumar parida, 2.56 lakh students are enrolled in arts, 1.14 lakh in science and 24,621 in commerce. additionally, 5,932 students are appearing under the vocational stream.the examinations are being held from 10 am to 1 pm. live streaming has been arranged at all centres, while 211 question paper hubs are under ai-based monitoring. special squads have been deployed for surprise inspections to prevent malpractice.chief minister mohan charan majhi extended his wishes to students, urging them to remain calm and confident. practical exams were held from january 2 to 15.
