Strict action for misuse of Aided course staff

in the wake of complaints received from certain quarters that some aided colleges are engaging teaching staff of aided courses for self-financing stream also the colleges are being brought under the varsity scanner. according to sources, a meeting was held on tuesday to discuss recommendations mooted by a committee constituted by vice-chancellor r. karpaga kumaravel to draft certain regulations that have to be followed by colleges with regard to m.phil. courses. it was agreed at the meeting that a circular would be sent to all aided colleges offering self-financing m.phil. programmes not to engage the ‘aided staff’ during the regular working hours. the committee had recommended that if at all a college wanted to engage aided staff, it had to be done with absolute willingness of the particular teaching faculty and that too “not during the timings of aided courses.” sources said that the mku was planning to write to colleges asking them to appoint separate staff for self-financing stream. the university authorities are also planning to get tough with colleges with regard to infrastructure availability before it grants permission to introduce m. phil. courses.
