Chennai: Tamil Nadu continues to lead in technological innovation and skill development, with a strong focus on integrating education with industry demands. Speaking at the CII Tamil Nadu Skill Summit, themed "Industry Institution Integration: Driving Tamil Nadu's Transformation Journey," Ms. Sudha S., Member Secretary of the State Planning Commission, highlighted the state's progressive approach to education and industry collaboration.
"Tamil Nadu has been at the forefront of embracing global technological trends, particularly in education and industry. Initiatives like the 'Enum Elithum' scheme and AI-driven evaluation systems demonstrate our commitment to equipping students with the skills necessary for a dynamic world," she stated.
Ms. Sudha also emphasized the state's investment in innovation, citing the ₹900 crore funding through the Tamil Nadu Innovation Initiative over nine years. Innovation hubs in Hosur and Sriperumbudur are key to fostering collaboration among students, entrepreneurs, and startups.
Mr. Srivats Ram, Chairman of CII Tamil Nadu State Council, stressed the importance of adapting to technological advancements in manufacturing, while Dr. G. Shibu, Deputy Director of CUIC, Anna University, underscored the university's role in aligning education with industry needs.
The summit featured discussions on diversity, future skills, and the role of industry in workforce development.
