Chennai: The Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) will host the prestigious South Zone Inter University Kho Kho Tournament for Men 2024-25 from December 27 to 31, 2024.

The event will be inaugurated by Subhash Kumar, DIG SSB (Retd) and Director Coordination of the Kho Kho Federation of India, on December 27 at 8:00 AM at CUTN's state-of-the-art Kho Kho arena. Prof. M. Krishnan, Vice Chancellor of CUTN and Chief Patron, will preside over the inaugural ceremony.

With four dedicated Kho Kho grounds near the Multipurpose Hall and Indoor Stadium, 76 matches will be played over five days, accommodating eight matches per day on each ground. The tournament will feature 80 teams and over 1,000 participants from universities across Southern India.

Organized by the Department of Physical Education and Sports, which offers academic programs such as a Ph.D. in Physical Education, the event is spearheaded by Dr. S. Jayaraman, Head of the Department.

Prof. Krishnan emphasized the university's commitment to holistic development, stating, “This tournament showcases CUTN's dedication to combining academic excellence with sportsmanship.”

Top-performing teams will secure a place in national competitions, marking the event as a gateway for emerging Kho Kho talents in Southern India.
