Chennai: The Protector of Emigrants (PoE), Tamil Nadu, under the Ministry of External Affairs, is set to organize a Walkathon for Safe and Legal Emigration on February 8, 2025, at 7:30 AM at Elliot's Beach, Chennai.

The initiative aims to raise awareness about fraudulent overseas job offers, particularly scams involving data entry and system operator roles in Southeast Asian countries, which have trapped many Indian citizens in cyber slavery and exploitation.

The PoE Office has been actively cracking down on illegal agents while conducting awareness campaigns to safeguard individuals from falling prey to such fraud.

The Walkathon also marks the launch of 'Paathu Ponga', a month-long awareness drive across Tamil Nadu to educate people about safe emigration practices and the risks of unauthorized overseas employment.

Citizens, students, and job seekers are encouraged to participate in the event and contribute to the fight against exploitation.

By spreading awareness and equipping job seekers with the right information, the initiative seeks to promote safe migration and protect individuals from exploitation.
