Chennai: The Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Telecom Training Centre (RGMTTC), the zonal training centre of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) in Chennai, has announced the launch of free skill development programmes under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, the Skill India Mission and PMKVY 4.0. The training will begin on December 15.

According to BSNL, the programmes will be handled by experienced industry professionals and aim to equip youth with employment-oriented skills in emerging telecom technologies. Each participant will undergo about 400 hours of technical, practical and on-the-job training in areas such as optical fibre splicing, broadband technology, optical fibre technology and wireless/mobile communication.

A separate free skill training programme exclusively for students from minority communities will be launched on December 22. This initiative will also focus on modern telecom technologies and aims to enhance opportunities for students from under-represented groups.

The programmes are fully funded and free of cost for all participants.

Interested candidates can register online through the RGMTTC website. Additional information is available via the mobile numbers shared by the centre.
