Arun, a member of the South India Regional Council of ICAI, highlighted the promising prospects of a Chartered Accountancy (CA) career during his talk on 'CA, the Future of Education'.
He emphasized that the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) was established by a central government agency and currently has 4.10 lakh Chartered Accountants (CAs) in India, despite the nation's population nearing 150 crores. With an annual demand for 15 lakh CAs, the profession offers immense opportunities.
Arun reassured students that CA is not a difficult course and can be pursued successfully even by Tamil-medium students. The program evaluates only technical knowledge and talent. The journey begins with the Foundation course, followed by Intermediate and Final exams. If a candidate fails in one subject, they must retake all subjects. After clearing the Intermediate level, students undergo a two-and-a-half-year training period under a practicing auditor, during which they receive a stipend.
Additionally, the course requires no significant financial investment.
Highlighting the financial prospects, Arun stated that CAs can earn between ₹10 lakh and ₹30 lakh annually, with top professionals making up to ₹35 lakh per month. However, he stressed that success in any field requires dedication and hard work, urging students to stay committed to their goals.
