Chennai: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), through its Board of Studies (Operations), conducted the Regional Level Poetry and Extempore competitions of the National Talent Search (NTS) 2025 at its Chennai premises on Sunday.

The event was hosted by the Southern India Regional Council (SIRC) and the Southern India Chartered Accountants Students Association (SICASA).

The NTS, an annual nationwide initiative featuring 12 talent-based competitions, aims to promote holistic development among CA students by encouraging skills beyond academics. ICAI said the platform helps students build confidence, creativity, analytical thinking and communication abilities—qualities essential for future Chartered Accountants.

Students from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh participated in the regional round, showcasing strong literary and oratory skills through poetry recitations and extempore presentations. Organisers said the competitions foster peer learning, regional camaraderie and provide an opportunity for students to express ideas on contemporary themes.

To ensure inclusivity and wider participation, ICAI reimburses travel and accommodation expenses for students qualifying for regional and national rounds across the country.

Winners from the Southern Region will now advance to the national-level competitions, where they will compete with finalists from other regions as part of ICAI's continued efforts to nurture talent across India.
