Chennai: The Southern India Regional Council (SIRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), along with SICASA, on Sunday conducted a practice-oriented seminar on GSTR Annual Return Filing, which saw the participation of more than 100 CA students and articled assistants from audit firms across Chennai.

Organised ahead of the December 31 filing deadline, the session aimed to equip students with hands-on knowledge, technical clarity and industry-ready skills to handle real-time GST compliance work. Expert faculty members delivered detailed sessions on the preparation of GSTR annual returns, reconciliation techniques, identification and rectification of common errors, data validation and best practices for filing GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C.

Participants said the training enhanced their understanding of GST return preparation, improved accuracy and boosted their confidence to manage client assignments during the peak filing period. The seminar also offered opportunities for peer learning and professional networking.

ICAI's Board of Studies - Operations and SICASA of SIRC regularly conduct grant-eligible programmes to strengthen students' technical and professional skills, while also supporting their mental and physical well-being, social responsibility and language proficiency through year-long initiatives.

The seminar, officials said, reflects SIRC's continued commitment to building the competence and professional preparedness of aspiring Chartered Accountants.
