New Delhi: The Indian Defence Service of Engineers (IDSE), a Group 'A' cadre under the Ministry of Defence, celebrated its 76th Raising Day at the Manekshaw Centre in Delhi Cantonment on Wednesday.
Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, who was the chief guest, lauded IDSE officers for their contribution to strengthening the country's defence preparedness through world-class infrastructure. He urged them to remain prepared for emerging challenges and adopt new technologies in line with evolving security needs.
The event also featured cultural performances by artists from the Indian Council of Cultural Relations and was attended by senior civilian and military officials from the Defence Ministry and Army Headquarters.
Established on September 17, 1949, IDSE officers are deployed across military stations in the country and are responsible for the planning, construction and maintenance of defence infrastructure, including airfields, hangars, naval jetties, hospitals, residential quarters, and specialised facilities for the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and DRDO.
