Chennai: The 2024 plus two results saw a small improvement in the overall pass rate, rising to 94.56% from last year's 94.03%.
The exams for plus two students happened between April 1 and 22, 2024, with around 7,60,606 students taking part. Out of these students, 3,52,165 were boys, 4,08,440 were girls, and one identified as third gender.
In total, 7,19,196 students passed, with 3,32,305 boys and 3,93,890 girls. Girls outperformed boys by 4.07%.
A total of 7,532 Higher Secondary schools were involved, with 2,478 achieving a perfect 100% pass rate. Additionally, 397 government higher secondary schools had a 100% pass.
Subjects wise, the pass rates were good: 98.48% in Physics, 99.14% in Chemistry, 99.35% in Biology, 98.57% in Mathematics, 98.86% in Botany, 99.04% in Zoology, and an impressive 99.80% in Computer Science.
Some other achievements include 35 students getting 100% in Tamil, 7 in English, 2,587 in Mathematics, and 6,996 in Computer Science.
The overall pass rate for 2024 went up slightly to 94.56%, showing a positive trend from last year's.
