Coimbatore: With the NEET-UG 2025 scheduled for the first week of May, students should adopt a well-structured study plan to avoid last-minute anxiety, said educationist Ashwin.
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), conducted by the National Testing Agency, is the gateway for admission to undergraduate courses in MBBS, BDS, Siddha, Ayurveda, Unani, Homeopathy, and Veterinary sciences across government and private institutions.
“This is not the time to panic,” Ashwin said. “The questions will be based on what students have already studied. Confidence and strategy are key to success.”
NEET comprises 360 questions from biology, 180 from physics, and 180 from chemistry. According to Ashwin, students generally find biology and chemistry manageable, while physics tends to be more challenging due to its conceptual and calculation-based questions.
He advised students to focus more on physics, especially topics like electricity, gravitation, electrostatics, ray optics, semiconductors, and thermodynamics. Regular practice through mock tests and solving the last 10 years' question papers can help improve performance.
“Time management is crucial. Attempt biology and chemistry first as they take less time. Physics should be tackled later, giving priority to known questions to maximise scoring,” he added.
Ashwin emphasised that a calm mindset and a planned approach can help aspirants perform effectively in the high-stakes examination.
