Kevadia (Gujarat): Pondicherry University Vice-Chancellor Prof. P. Prakash Babu is participating in the two-day Vice Chancellors' Conference of Central Universities being held here from July 10 to 11, focusing on “National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in Action: Transforming Higher Education.”

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the conference on Wednesday. Dr. Vineet Joshi, Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and Secretary, Higher Education, Government of India, delivered the opening remarks.

The event, hosted at the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, is being attended by Vice Chancellors from Central Universities across the country, senior officials from the Ministry of Education and UGC, and prominent academic and policy leaders.

The conference is deliberating on the role of Central Universities in advancing the goals of Viksit Bharat@2047, institutional governance, research and innovation, and aligning higher education with national development priorities.

It aims to facilitate meaningful dialogue, collaboration, and exchange of ideas to ensure the effective implementation of NEP 2020 and to shape the future of higher education in India, a release from PIB Chennai said.
