Chennai: In a heartwarming initiative, Round Table India organised its annual “Flight of Fantasy” programme, taking 16 underprivileged children from Coimbatore on their first-ever air travel, officials said.

The initiative, conducted jointly by Round Table 20 Coimbatore and Round Table 100 Chennai for the fifth consecutive year, saw the children travel from Coimbatore International Airport to Chennai International Airport, marking a significant first-time experience.

After arriving in Chennai, the children spent time at Phoenix Marketcity, where they participated in games and entertainment activities. The group later visited Besant Nagar Beach as part of the day-long programme.

The children returned to Coimbatore on an evening flight, completing a full day of activities.

Organisers said the initiative aims to provide exposure and create lasting memories for children who may not otherwise have access to such experiences.

Representatives from the organising bodies said the programme would continue to focus on inspiring and uplifting children through experiential learning initiatives.
