Chennai: SA College of Arts and Sciences, renowned for its enriching academic environment and modern facilities, inaugurated the academic year 2024-2025 with a vibrant freshers welcome ceremony on July 3, 2024.
Established in 1992 under the stewardship of the Dharma Naidu Education and Service Trust, the college offers 13 undergraduate and 3 master's degree programs, ensuring high-quality education and holistic development for its students.
The event unfolded at the college auditorium, graced by distinguished personalities including Chairman of the Foundation Committee, Mr. D. Duraisamy; Vice President, Mr. D. Paranthaman; Secretary, Mr. D. Dasharathan; Treasurer, Mr. S. Amarnath; Joint Secretary, Mr. S. Gopinath; Directors Mr. P. Venkatesh Raja and Mrs. D. Saraswati; Dr. S. Arvind; and Mr. D. Sabrinath.
Dr. Malathi Selvakumar, the College Principal, delivered the welcome address, while Dr. Sai Satyavathy, the College Director, felicitated the incoming students. Dr. S. Ganapathy, Head of Corporate Affairs, shared insights into the college's illustrious journey.
The keynote address was delivered jointly by College Foundation Secretary Mr. D. Dasarathan and Principal Mr. P. Venkatesh Raja. Indian Army Officer Lieutenant General Arun Ananthanarayan, as a special guest, underscored the importance of personal values and encouraged students to contribute meaningfully to society.
Dr. T.V. Ashoka, Head of Psychiatry at Sri Muthukumaran Medical College Hospital and Research Institute, delivered a lecture focusing on mental health maintenance.
The vote of thanks was extended by Mr. B. Chandrasekhar, Head of Computer Science.
The ceremony marked the commencement of a new academic journey for the incoming students, inspiring them to strive for excellence and make positive contributions to their communities.
